Poshyvailo. A family of ceramicists from Opishnia, Poltava oblast. The first renowned potter in the family
was Taras, who lived in the second half of the 19th and in the early 20th century. His works consisted
of enameled pots, bowls, cups, and pans. His wife, Kylyna (?-1930), was known for her ceramic toys,
and their son, Nykyfor (b late 1880s, d October 1936), specialized in enameled dishware. Nykyfor's son, Havrylo (b 7 April 1909), has made functional earthenware and small decorative pieces, which were
painted with floral or animal designs by his wife, Yevdokhiia (b 14 March 1910). Their son, Mykola
(b 27 May 1930), besides plates, toys, ashtrays, and candle holders, has produced sculptural compositions, such as Farmer (1974) and Natalka and Petro (1974). The family's work has been displayed in France, Belgium, and Bulgaria and can be found in museums in Kiev, Poltava, and Vilnius.
